Split won theaudience award at the 8th annual Riverside Festival beating out Beyond The Call, a documentary that has taken the top prize indocumentary competitions at 35 film festivals around the world. At two sold-outscreenings, the film drew rave reviews from viewers of all ages and political persuasions. Recognized for consistently selecting abroad and diverse range of filmmaking voices, the 2008 Riverside Intl Film Festival included films from Russia, France, Italy, China, Mexico, India, Korea and the United States.

AFI Dallas International Film Festival

Split: A Divided America worldpremiered at the AFI Dallas International Film Festival in March -one of only 9 films selected for the Target Ten Documentary FeatureCompetition. One of the mostprestigious festivals in the US attracting the best films from around theworld, two of the documentaries in competition in2007 were nominated for Academy Awards this year - Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience and Wardance. The winner of the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature,Alex Gibney, screened his latest film Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr.Hunter S. Thompson at the festival this year.
